This piece was also part of my early oil painting experience. It was my interpretation of the Seal Rocks by Ralph Albert Blakelock painting. Although his style is not quite considered impressionism, I felt that this particular painting was, and I chose it because of the beautiful play with yellows and whites in the sunset. I felt as if I could just dive into the ocean and swim with the seals to be closer to this mesmerizing sunset.
